Gone Away

A/N: Written to 'Hate This Place' by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Gone away.
Who knows where you been.
You take all your lies.
And wish them all away.

Vegeta was sitting gloomily on the bed that he shared with Bulma. He had gone too far this time. The two of them didn't always get along, but the fight they had that morning had pushed him over the edge.

I somehow doubt.
We'll ever be the same.
There's too much poison.
And confusion on your face.

Vegeta felt sick to his stomach as he saw Bulma's face in his mind's eye once again… Her expression made him shudder with regret. She'd been so upset with him; she'd run from the room crying. She just didn't understand him. She was so good to him that he didn't know how to act.

Can you feel it.
I didn't mean it.
Can I see you.
What are we doin'.
I think I love you.
But I ain't sayin' nothin' you don't know.

e couldn't even remember what they were fighting about. He rose from the bed and began to look for her.

Hold on dream away.
You're my sweet charade.

He found her in the lab, working on some new gadget. He stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I'm sorry." He whispered. Bulma turned to face him; the tears and hurt were still in her eyes. Those eyes were so beautiful. He saw his own reflection in them. His own tears blurred his vision temporarily. Vegeta took her face in his hands and kissed her.

Take your time.
Move yourself to me.
Yeah I can take your lies.
Until you fall away.
You know I'm lost.
Hiding in your bed.
No I don't think it's wrong.
It's just gone to my head.
Can you feel it.
I didn't mean it.
Can I see you.
What are we doin'.
I think I love you.
But I ain't sayin' nothin' you don't know.

Bulma returned the kiss, too caught up in the moment to stop.

Hold on dream away.
You're my sweet charade.

They had somehow found their way to the sofa in the corner. And Vegeta began his apology, with a sweet caress down her back.

Hey whatcha do to me.
Would you come back to me.
Yeah I can't do another day.
I'm not certain of it anyway.
I'm not messin' with another life.
Can I get along without you.
Tell me lies.
That you.
Know I need.

They lay together holding on to each other as if their lives depended on this single moment in time.

Hold on dream away.
You're my sweet charade.

She turned to him and looked deep into his apologetic eyes. And she smiled slightly; it was a smile of acceptance. He had been forgiven, this time.

Hold on dream away.
You're my sweet charade.
Hold on dream away.
Hold on dream away.
